The inspiration for this T-shirt was talking to my doctor, she thought the lack of eye contact was a learnt behaviour. I quickly corrected her! The issue is NTs read body language instead of listening to what is being said. Autistics, listing and thinking about what is being said, but if they try to do this whilst also reading body language, they get confused. Just like NT trying to read body language and thinking at the same time! I think the autistics are right on this front, thoughtful meaningful conversation above superficiality any day!
